Manic Monday

What is the most useful gift you’ve ever been given? My Bunn coffee pot my mother-in-law gave me in 1986. I even remember the year! They last forever, and I couldn't live without it. I think I am on my 2nd Bunn. I even bought one for the office. Coffee starts brewing as soon as you pour the water in! It's done in no time!

Name the most terrifying moment of your life so far. Not just a single time, but every time my kids took a road trip after they got their driver's license. Especially if the weather was bad, or they didn't call to say they made it when I thought they should, and I couldn't get them on their phone. Even today, I worry and they are 26 and 23.

One hot summer afternoon, while walking through a parking lot at a large shopping center, you notice a dog suffering badly from the heat inside a locked car. What would you do? I would call for a policeman or find a guard at the shopping center to get the car unlocked. Hopefully they would take the animal to the Humane Society.

Friday Fill-Ins

1.Some family member's birthdays, a week in Fort Collins for a meeting(love it that time of year), and Halloween are some of the things I'm most looking forward to in October.

2. Sometimes I wish you could turn back time, but then I really like the way my life is now.

3. I can be pretty persuasive when I want to be and that's why there is a saying, "never say never"!

4. When I'm down, I like to talk about it with other people. It makes you realize your problems are not quite as bad.

5. Either at work or at home is where you'll find me most often.

6. A rainy day is good for cooking or baking and then eating.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a quiet evening at home , tomorrow my plans include a day trip to the city to buy presents for those birthdays coming up and Sunday, I want to get my weekend chores done, and watch the Broncos play!

Manic Monday

Pick out the most important item you have in your purse/wallet and tell me why it's important to you. I think the most important thing in my wallet is my Official Government issued I.D. or Drivers's License. You can't get on a plane without it, or charge with a credit card, or even write a check. It is my only identification with my picture on it, since I don't carry my passport around. Oh, and I guess I can't drive without it.

What would you take from your house if you knew it would be flooded tomorrow? I would grab my thumb drive (which has all my computer info, pictures, banking info, addresses), important jewelry, and my kids baby books.

If you were stuck in a room for an hour with a chalk board, what would you draw on it? Probably just write my name on it a few times, and maybe some happy faces.

Manic Monday

If you could choose only two movies to watch ever again, what would they be? The movies would be Dirty Dancing (one of my all time favorites) and Gone with the Wind.

What have you found to be the best way to relieve tension? I would pour me a glass of wine, put on some good music and read a good book.

If you went to a beach and it turned out to be a nude beach, would you stay and go swimming? Would you swim nude? Yes to both questions! Hopefully I wouldn't know anyone though.

We returned from our "Dog Vacation". It is such a relaxing trip, no phones, t.v., pagers. In this day and age it kind of freaks me out being so out of touch with my kids, work, etc. We do alot of hiking in the mountains, some fishing, and alot of eating. We don't just do the sandwich stuff, we like to grill steaks, brats, even the trout we caught. I usually make a big breakfast, which I don't do at home. Some people wouldn't think of this as a vacation, but I love it. I read books, one which is Nicolas Sparks' which the movie is getting ready to be released, "Nights in Rodanthe". I am really looking forward in seeing that. Bill and I played gin rummy, during the day when it was raining, or at night, after we went in. We had a fire every night, of course we had smore's.

Since it was the Dog Vacation I had to put pictures of them. This is Baby Jake, he is not really a puppy anymore, he is 4, but that was what we called him and it stuck, we also call him Odie, cause he really acts alot like Garfield's friend.

Gus is our old guy, he is 11, he was a real trouper. Though this might have been his last year to the mountains, I don't know. He hiked up the mountain every time, but by night he was limping around and his feet hurt. He also had a hard time getting in and out of the camper.

So, now tomorrow back to work for both of us. That is always a challenge after being gone for a week. Plus tomorrow after work the girls at work are coming over for drinks for a birthday party for one of them! So Pomegranite and regular margarita's here we come!
